How to play the Daily Word Wheel
Each day you're given nine letters, laid out in a wheel with one highlighted letter in the middle. Your goal is to spell as many words as you can that are at least four letters long — and every word must include that center letter. Each letter can be used only once per word, and there is always at least one word that uses all nine letters at once. Type a word and press Enter, or tap the tiles to build it. Because the wheel is generated from the calendar date, everyone plays the same nine letters, so you can compare scores with friends. A brand-new wheel appears at midnight, your local time.
Scoring and ranks
Each word is worth one point per letter, and finding the nine-letter word that uses every letter earns a bonus. Your rank rises from Beginner through Good, Nice, Great, Amazing and Genius as your score climbs toward the maximum possible for the day. Your progress is stored in your browser, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off later the same day. Come back tomorrow to keep your day streak alive. Stuck? A few tips
Because the center letter is required in every answer, start by pairing it with the vowels on the wheel — those short cores often grow into longer words. Hunt for common endings such as -ing, -ed, -er and -est, and remember that plurals and simple verb forms usually count. When you're stuck, the nine-letter word is the big prize: try to picture a single word that would use every tile, then work backwards from it.
Want a hand?
If you'd rather solve than play, the Spelling Bee solver and the Anagram Solver both find every word hidden in a set of letters, and the word lists A–Z are handy for widening your vocabulary. They pair naturally with the wheel when you want to learn a new word.
