Daily Word Search

Find the eight hidden words in today's grid. They run across, down, and diagonally — and some are backwards. One puzzle a day, the same for everyone.

How the Daily Word Search works

Every day there's one fresh grid of letters with eight words tucked inside it. The words can run in any of eight directions — left to right, right to left, top to bottom, bottom to top, and along all four diagonals — and a few are hidden backwards to keep you honest. To mark a word, tap or click its first letter and then its last letter; if the two cells line up with a hidden word, it locks in and gets crossed off your list. Because the grid is built from the calendar date, everyone plays the same puzzle, and a new one arrives at midnight your local time. Your progress is saved right in your browser.

    Finding words faster

Scanning works best when you hunt one letter at a time. Pick the first letter of a word you're looking for, find every place it appears, and check the eight neighbors of each for the second letter. Diagonals are the easiest to overlook, so give them a deliberate pass once the obvious rows and columns are done. And remember that any word can be reversed — if a row reads like gibberish forwards, try reading it the other way. The Hint button will light up the first letter of a word you haven't found yet when you're truly stuck.

Why word searches are good for you

Beyond being relaxing, a word search sharpens visual scanning and pattern recognition, and it quietly reinforces spelling as your eye traces each word letter by letter. It's a low-pressure way to warm up before a tougher puzzle, which is exactly why we pair it with our other daily games — a couple of minutes here makes the Daily Word Guess or the Daily Word Ladder feel that much sharper.
