How the anagram solver works
Enter the letters you want to rearrange and the solver checks every arrangement against a dictionary of more than 269,000 words. It returns two things at once: full anagrams that use all of your letters, shown first, and then every shorter word you can spell from a subset of them, grouped by length. Add a question mark (?) for each blank or wildcard, and use the must contain box to force a particular letter to appear in every result.
Full anagrams vs. shorter words
A true anagram rearranges all the letters into a new word — listen becomes silent, enlist, or tinsel. Those appear in the top group. Often there's no single-word anagram, so the solver also lists every partial word, which is exactly what you need for crosswords, word games, or puzzle clues that only use some of the letters.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between an anagram and a subset word?
- A full anagram uses every one of your letters exactly once (for example, LISTEN and SILENT). A subset word uses only some of them. This solver shows both — full anagrams first, then shorter words grouped by length.
- How do I use a blank or wildcard?
- Type a question mark (?) for each unknown letter. The solver fills it with whatever letter forms a valid word.
- Is this anagram solver free?
- Completely free, with no sign-up. Everything runs in your browser, so your letters are never sent anywhere.
