How the anagram ladder works
Every day the ladder gives you five scrambled words. The bottom rung is four letters, and each rung above it adds one more letter, all the way up to an eight-letter word at the top. Unscramble the rung you're on to unlock the next one. Because the words are chosen from the calendar date, everyone plays the same ladder, so you can compare how far you climbed with friends. A brand-new ladder appears at midnight, your local time, and your progress is saved in your browser.
Answers, hints, and skipping
You don't have to find the exact word we had in mind — any real word that uses exactly the scrambled letters counts. If you get stuck, the Hint button reveals one more letter of a valid answer, and Reveal & skip shows the answer and moves you up to the next rung so a single hard word never blocks the climb. Your score is simply how many rungs you solved on your own, and each solved rung keeps your daily streak alive when you come back tomorrow.
Tips for unscrambling longer words
Short rungs usually fall fast, but the six-, seven-, and eight-letter rungs reward a little method. Pull out common beginnings and endings first — prefixes like re-, un-, and in-, and endings like -ing, -ed, -tion, and -ly — then arrange what's left in the middle. Grouping the vowels together and testing familiar consonant pairs such as th, ch, and st also helps the word snap into focus.
